The Somerset Levels RDA carriage-driving group is based near Wells.

 

Every day, throughout the year, a rota of our volunteers helps with all the stabling-tasks:  caring for our ponies and taking them out for a drive to keep them exercised.

 

We have 20 volunteers, including 6 qualified RDA Whips (ie, carriage-drivers trained and assessed to assist disabled drivers).

 

Every Thursday (April to October), we provide carriage-driving services to our 30+ disabled clients.  Whenever possible, these weekly sessions are held at the Bath & West Showground. On other occasions, we drive out from our stables near Wells.

 

We also take our more competitive clients to local and national events, like the Windsor horse-show, and we arrange events of our own - for our clients, and for our volunteers and supporters.
